Sarfaq Ittuk
Introduction
The vessel was built in 1992 and modernised and lengthened in the winter of 1999/2000. She is now 73 metres long and 11 metres wide. With her engine of 2000 hp the vessels steams at a speed of 13 knots. The crew counts 22 people.
The vessel has café, stern saloon with panorama windows, playroom and a hospital clinic to be used in case of injuries and emergency situations onboard.
The vessel's capacity is 274 passengers. The overnight accommodation facilities are distributed on 104 cabin beds with private bath and toilet,85 4-person compartment seats and60 couchettes.

Cabin
Couchette
It is berths in open area. There is no bedding and towel. You can choose to bring your own bedding or sleeping bag or rent a night package (bed linen and towel).
Locations for couchettes are on deck 1 and 2 We are given accommodation boarding. There is a shared toilet and shower in the corridor.
Compartment
4 berth facility, the door to the room, can be closed. It includes bed linen and towel. Compartment is approx. 4.2 square meters. Most compartments have sea views, with the exception of a few individuals.
Compartment is located on the deck 3. Accommodation is given upon boarding. You can be accommodated with other passengers, however, take as far as possible, for accommodation will be of the same sex. There is a shared toilet and hower in the corridor.

Cabin
The cabins are designed for 1-4 people. There is a private shower and toilet. The berths are created with bed linen and duvet with a towel. The cabin is approx. 9.9 square meters. All cabins are outside cabins and have sea views.
The cabin is located on 3 and 4 tires. You are allocated accommodation boarding. You will not be staying with other passengers only with those you are booked with.

Along the west coast of Greenland
The journey begins in the gentle and luxuriant southern Greenland, where the sheep is gracing pastures stretch right down to the fiord.The guide onboard gives lectures in different topics about Greenland and makes sightseeing in some of the smaller cities/settlements.
Get close to the harbour environment in the smaller seaports, as all the locals often gather when a ship comes in. This is a nice interruption of every day life in a small seaport, which is often blocked by ice several months at a time. The seaport is where families meet and part and where busy fishermen work on the catch of the day.There are great opportunities of seeing whales and seals during the journey, as they play under the surface of the sea and in between the icebergs.
During the sailing trip we cross the polar circle about 300 kilometers south of Ilulissat,where the midnight sun is in the sky until the middle of July. We reach Ilulissat after 1,200kilometers at sea.

Southbound
Leaving the beautiful rugged north behind, the ship sets out on its voyage towards the South of Greenland after visiting several smaller towns along the way. The guide onboard gives lectures In different topics about Greenland and makes sightseeings in some of the small ercities/settlements.In every port the locals enthusiastically greet the arriving ship, eagerly waiting for their loved ones to disembark the vessel. Similar scenery unfolds when the ship leaves port again, but this time smiles are often replaced by tears as loved ones and family members’ part, maybe for a lengthy separation.More often than not, cars will be honking on the pier as a goodbye to the departing vessel while the crowd cheers and waves shouting phrases such as “love you” and “have a safe journey”.There are great chances of seeing whales and seals during the journey, as they play under the surface of the sea and in between the icebergs.
Southern Greenland is very green, with lush fiords, sheep farms and fields of growing produce like potatoes. This is Greenland’s garden and farmers are able to grow some vegetables like cabbage, potatoes and tomatoes.
